Shelby Park, Section 1
Davidson Co., TN
17 February 2023

On this cold and windy Friday morning I decided to go to Shelby Park
in Nashville to look for the OSPREY that had been reported there over
the past week. I parked at the visitors center next to the railroad
trestle and proceeded to walk to the small pond. Looking in the sky
I spotted an adult BALD EAGLE circling over the Cumberland River
and then saw an OSPREY above it. Over the course of several minutes,
I watched as the OSPREY proceeded to dive bomb the BALD EAGLE three
times. The latter reacted to each close pass of the OSPREY by turning
over and presenting its talons. Satisfied with the results, the OSPREY
disengaged, and the birds went their separate ways.
