Shelby Park and Bottoms
Nashville, TN, Davidson Co.
Phillip Casteel and I birded the Park and Bottoms this morning, and the
overnight rains brought in some good birds. The Swainson's Warbler continues
in Phase 2 of the bottoms, and we also tallied Black-throated Blue and
Golden-winged Warblers among the 22 species of warbler that were seen/heard:
Golden-winged - 1
Tennessee - 15
Orange-crowned - 2
Nashville - 12
Northern Parula - 4
Yellow - 3
Chestnut-sided - 7
Magnolia - 6
Cape May - 1
Black-throated Blue - 1
Yellow-rumped - 30+
Black-throated Green - 5
Yellow-throated - 2
Prairie - 4
Palm - 20+
Blackpoll - 10+
Black-and-White - 2
American Redstart - 4
Swainson's - 1
Ovenbird - 2
Common Yellowthroat - 5
Chat - 10
Other species:
Barred Owl
Vireos: Red-eyed, Blue-headed, White-eyed, and Warbling
Swainson's Thrush
Rose-breated Grosbeak
Summer/Scarlet Tanagers
Baltimore Oiole
