I finished my housework a little early today, so I decided to add a little
semi-serious birding to my daily exercise walk at Shelby Forest State Park
(10 miles ~, north of Memphis). Highlights of the day were two crows
attacking a passing red-tailed hawk, a very lonesome-looking double-crested
cormorant at Poplar Tree Lake, a wild turkey strolling across the road and my
first-of-the-season white-eyed vireo.
