I birded this morning (Sat. 4/4/09) at Neshoba Park and the Wolf River Greenway in Germantown with a friend who is new to bird watching. We started the morning seeing a FOS Green Heron and a Northern rough winged Swallow (life bird for me!) Other birds also seen: Blue grey gnatcatchers 6 American Goldfinch 2 Great Blue Heron 1 Belted Kingfisher 5 Yellow rumped warbler Red Bellied Woodpecker Carolina Chickadee Ruby Crowned Kinglet White throated sparrows 7+ Cedar Waxwings 9 Red Winged Blackbird 7-8 Blue Winged Teal Ducks 2 Canadian Geese Eastern Phoebe Bank Swallow 2 Blue Jay Cardinal (numerous) Tufted Titmouse 3 Mockingbird Blue-headed Vireo Killdeer 2 Mourning Dove American Robins Mockingbirds Field Sparrow ?
