September 26, 2010 Greeneville's fall count was held yesterday. Results have not been tabulated, but here is a short list of some of the species I found: Blue-winged Teal (54) Northern Bobwhite (4) Great Egret (16) Red-shouldered Hawk (2) Solitary Sandpiper Lesser Yellowlegs Least Sandpiper (2) Pectoral Sandpiper Barn Owl Great Horned Owl Red-headed Woodpecker (3) Cliff Swallow (2) Sedge Wren (3, calling and singing at the Joachim Bible Refuge. Two birds offered excellent views with binos, one from a distance of under 20 feet.)
