Hello Birders,

At about 2 PM, the immature Cooper's with the white marble-sized spot came
back and perched on a deck chair here in Charlotte Park, West Nashville,
Davidson County, a few blocks east of the Cumberland River. He stayed and
stayed. I
got the camera and took quite a few photos. I even got up from my chair and
got to a position where I could get the hawk AND a squirrel that was feeding
just a few feet from it in the same shot. Obviously, squirrel was not on
"Immy's" menu for today. It must be all those birds in the grape vines that
keep
it coming back. Maybe the squirrel wasn't what the other "Immy" was after the
other day when it flew into the vine.

After about ten minutes on its deck chair perch, my poodle woke up, saw the
squirrel and started jumping a barking at the doorway. "Immy" appeared to give
him a dirty look and flew off to perch in a dead tree from which it flew
again when I let Beaujolais out to deal with the squirrel.

By the way, my mockingbirds are not eating much peanut butter these day since
all these grapes are in. The chickadees and titmice can't seem to get enough
PB, however.

Happy birding,

Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
