With the increasing numbers of ducks coming south due to freezing waters up north, I had to get out for a couple of hours this morning.

Second Creek Boat Ramp, Trousdale County
about 2 miles south of Highway 25, west of Hartsville

Highlight when I pulled up was looking at the group of Canada Geese at the far end of the parking lot and finding that they were all Greater White-Fronted Geese. They then flew out and landed on the water, leaving two Canada Geese behind.

Great Blue Heron 7
Pied-Billed Grebe 8
Canada Goose 5
Greater White-Fronted Goose 24
Gadwall 6
Common Loon 1
Ring-Billed Gull 4

Fox Sparrow 2 feeding along the road just outside the entrance to the boatramp
Northern Cardinal 5
European Starling 25

American Crow 1

Defeated Creek, Smith county (first two boat ramp parking areas)
