My wife and I were driving to Franklin for some shopping at Cool Springs this afternoon on Tn 840 and hadn't even left Murfreesboro when she said "what was that white-breasted bird with the long tail on the fence?". After I backed up on the shoulder to the fence, an adult male Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was still present, long tail and all! This was only a mile or so from the nest site last summer on Florence Road at I-24. The bird was on the north side of the road, perched on the chain-link fence beside the large quarry filled with water between US 41 and I-24.
