Looks like a pair of Scissortailed Flycatchers have decided to make Lake Co their home . We have been watching this pair, male and female, now since Monday. The birds were initially found by Bettie Sumara. Since then Ken Leggett, Bettie Leggett, Glenn Criswell and my self have been trying to keep up with them and find the tree that they finally will call home and nest in. so far, no luck. they are very aggressive and on the defense today on the grain bins at Cargill Grainery in Wynnburg at the end of the Upper Wynnburg Rd. on the River. They were first seen on the road between the incinerator and the Grainery. There is a pair of nesting Kestrels on the Grain bins too and the Flycatchers seem to be in charge. We will let you know when we document that they are nesting here.and where. Should be soon. They were also seen today at the Grain Bins but on the water where they load the barges. There is a low wire under the "chute" to the barges they were sitting on and "flycatching".
