This past weekend I went to the Sax-Zim Bog Winter Birding Festival, and was joined by David Kirshke, and also saw Chuck and Lola Estes on Sunday. Seen were 4 Great Gray Owls, 3 Boreal Owls, 2 Snowy Owls, 1 Northern Hawk Owl, Snow Buntings, Finches, Redpolls, etc. Despite the frequent single digit temps, and negative teens Saturday night, the birds more than made up for it.
