Got out for about three hours Saturday afternoon (4-18). Went up onto the
plateau to Bon Air Mountain and worked Scotts Gulf, the Centennial Wilderness,
and Coal Bank Rd. Ended up with 49 species of birds and at least 10 species of
butterflies, including the following which were either items of interest or
first of season species:

Wild Turkey - 4 (hard to find lately, photos)
Northern Bobwhite - 2 (Centennial Wilderness, many more likely around, perfect
habitat)
Eastern Kingbird - 1 (FOS, photos)
White-eyed Vireo - 1 (FOS)
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1 (FOS)
Northern Parula - 1 (FOS)
Yellow-rumped Warbler - several
Black-throated Green Warbler - 1 (FOS)
Pine Warbler - many
Prairie Warbler - many (FOS)
Black-and-White Warbler
Hooded Warbler - 4 (FOS, two calling across the road to each other)
Scarlet Tanager - 1 (FOS, a bright and handsome male)
