[TN-Bird] Saturday Bird Walk, Springfield (Robertson Co.)

A morning bird walk this past Saturday at J. Travis Price Park in  
Springfield sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department  
attracted 15 participants. Though many migrants have yet to come  
through the area in sizable numbers, 45 species were seen. Highlights  
were an Osprey circling with a group of Black Vultures, a pair of  
Blue-winged Teal, a Swamp Sparrow and a White-crowned Sparrow that  
still haven't decided to head north, and a flock of about a dozen  
Rough-winged Swallows which flew close by over the lake allowing good  
looks. Gnatcatchers were numerous and vocal. Seen were:

Turkey Vulture
Osprey
Cooper's Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Rock Pigeon
Mourning Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker

Eastern Phoebe
Blue Jay
American Crow
Tree Swallow
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Barn Swallow
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Eastern Bluebird
American Robin
Northern Mockingbird
Brown Thrasher
European Starling
Northern Parula
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Eastern Towhee
Chipping Sparrow
Field Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Red-winged Blackbird
Eastern Meadowlark
Common Grackle
Brown-headed Cowbird
