When I left McKee's for lunch today there were several hundred Sandhills
flying over. They appeared to be catching a thermal over a ridge to the
southeast of Collegedale and then heading off toward the northwest. The one
group I attempted to count had 45 to 50 birds in it and there were at least
6 groups of at least that size and several smaller ones.
