I spent a solid 4 hours and some 70+ miles cycling around Rutherford and =
Williamson Counties Saturday morning. Beautiful weather for a long ride =
and a few good birds and FOS's were found. In no specific county (as I =
honestly couldn't tell you where most were seen), I heard/saw:

Eastern Kingbirds: in 9 places and one mockingbird that about fooled me
Louisiana Waterthrushes: 2
Blue Grosbeak: 1 FOS
Common Yellowthroat: 1
Yellow-thr Vireo: 1
Blue-winged Warbler: 1 on Pulltight road in Williamson County (Pulltight =
is a long hill, so I was going slow and could hear birds well, as well as =
I can over my heart thumping in my head)
Yellow-rumped Warbler: 1
Kentucky Warbler: 1 FOS (on another long hill)
Prairie Warbler: 1
Pine Warbler: 1=20
Scarlet Tanager:1=20
One crow attacking a turkey vulture. Very odd.

Not many of anything, but a good variety of birds. I would have picked up =
more individuals if I was going slower. Riding fast with any wind makes =
hearing birds kind of tough. Only true good birding time is when I'm =
going slower uphill.

On Friday afternoon, I picked up a couple new yard birds after work, one =
of which was fairly unexpected. I had 2 male bobwhite's calling in the =
short grass horse pasture behind our house. I also had a White-eyed Vireo =
singing away. Nice additions to my suburban yard.

Cheers,
   Scott
