Hello,
I spent the afternoon on the back porch watching birds and taking pictures
birds. The bird creek was a hoppin' and splashin'. The peanuts at the peanut
feeder was the most sought after snack. A surprise for me today was a
Red-headed Woodpecker!!!! I've not seen one in the yard (or surrounding area)
before, so image my surprise as it was headed toward the feeder area and then
did a turn into the pear tree when it noticed me. That made four woodpeckers
for me today. I only seen about seven Pine Siskins at one time, but they were
calling from the trees and were very loud at times. I had a flock of Cedar
Waxwings fly over. I was pleased to see both a Cape May Warber and a Palm
Wabler. I had both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles. I had three Summer Tanagers
- male, female and first spring male. I had a Coopers Hawk dive in and scare
the birds away for a while. There is a pair of tree swallows building a nest
in the box, so there were flying around all day. There were many different
bird calls coming from the woods, but I gave up trying to identify and moved on
to enjoying the sounds. :)

the highest number seen at one time unless I could differentiate different
