Willie has become a pansy - a pansy lover that is. Virginia found the
first ones of the season at a local plant nursery yesterday and put them
in pots and placed them on the deck right beside the wrought iron
butterfly that is one of his favorite sitting places. And he loves them
as was evident by his buzzing them all afternoon. We didn't think his
"cuteness factor" could be any higher, but seeing him at those flowers
put if off the chart. This morning he came to the feeder at 5:37 and
drank deeply 3 times in 3 minutes, then took a quick trip around the
flowers before sitting and preening in the bare bush. What a darling he
is and his gorget is unbelievably beautiful now. If the little immature
female Rufous which has been wintering about 35 miles away could get one
glimpse of Willie, she'd move to our yard for sure.
