Today in Blount County I had a brief but interesting observation of a
Ruby-crowned Kinglet. It was pulling bits off of what as far as I could
tell was a dried scrap of a deer carcass that someone had thrown out. I
went to grab my camera, but the kinglet had moved on when I returned. I
took a quick look at the Birds of the World species account for
Ruby-crowned Kinglets and did not see this kind of foraging mentioned.
