June 4th 2013 Robertson County, TN Thanks to the recent post by Tony Lance and Durwood Edwards I quickly located the Scissor-tailed Flycatchers this morning, a Life Bird! They were exactly where they had previously been reported on William Batson Pkwy across from the Highland Crest College entrance. Afterwards I headed to a nearby location I researched from ebird to check for Loggerhead Shrikes. Again, they were located fairly quickly along Homer Worsham Rd, my first of the year. The shrikes (4 of them together, a personal high count for one location) were along the road and close enough to take some good documenting photos. As mentioned by Tony earlier the Bobwhite Quail were very vocal along the road and it was nice to hear so many. This road had very little traffic and was quite scenic. A very good morning for 2 target birds, now if I could just find my nemesis bird the "Clarksville Mississippi Kite"! Stanley York Jr. Palmyra/Montgomery County
