[TN-Bird] Robco Lake and Mississippi River - Shelby Co.

Robco Lake
MS RV at Mud Island
Shelby Co. TN
 
I had a couple of free hours today and spent most of the time looking  
through the birds on Robco Lake. Ring-billed Gull were moving in and out of the 
 
lake with a lot of them going due north but I don't know where they are going.  
There were less than a hundred Ring-bills and just over that number of  
Bonaparte's feeding on the lake, quite a bit down from yesterday. No luck on 
the  
Kittiwake but it could be going in and out with the other gulls as there is 
Horn  
Lake to the south in MS and North Lake to the west. I'll keep  checking.
 
A quick look out on the Mississippi River from Mud Island turned up 2 first  
winter, male BLACK SCOTERS hanging with a single Lesser Scaup and then 3  
Greater Scaup flew in to join them. Looks like it is going to be a good scoter  
year. A few Ring-billed Gulls and a single immature Herring rounded out the  
count.
