Carver's Gap on Roan Mtn
Good numbers of migrants making early morning reorientation movements
thru the gap. Fog early made IDs difficult, as most birds were just flying thru.
warbler sp. - 300+
Tennessee Warbler - 40+
Cape May Warbler - 40+
Bay-breasted Warbler - 6
Am. Redstart - 10
plus smaller numbers of Blk-thr. Blue, Blk-thr. Green, Hooded.
Numerous Scarlet Tanagers & Rose-br. Grosbeaks, but very few thrushes.
Red Crossbills (8+) continue due to good cone crop in spruce-fir forest.
