TN-Birders: Today, while returning from a day in the GSMNP, a male Ring-necked Pheasant was seen along I-81 at mile marker 43 in Greene County. We were north bound, approaching the big sign announcing Jeraroldstown Road, when the bird flew across the interstate from the west and landed just below a guard rail. It appeared to be a hawk. When he were on it the details and color of the pheasant were very obvious without binoculars right by the roadside. I was traveling with Kevin Hamed and Tom Horsch.
