[TN-Bird] Re: Right to hunt Constitutional Amendment

Remember that the State constitution does not trump Federal law or  
international treaties, so even with this questionable wording this  
amendment cannot be used as a basis for taking Blue Jays or Red- 
tailed Hawks without the usual permits.  I wonder how much the  
"traditional methods" wording is intended to protect means of fishing  
that are allowed in TN but illegal in most other states (like hand- 
grabbing of catfish a.k.a. "noodling.")?  But give that the amendment  
makes it clear that it will have no effect on the government's power  
to regulate and restrict, and that it will have no effect on federal  
protections, it pretty much will have no effect AT ALL which means it  
is just a bunch of unnecessary and meaningless verbiage in an already  
bloated constitution.  This is reason enough to vote against it!
