The TBRC wishes to thank all those who have taken the time to document
and submit rare
bird records and especially for those that are accompanied by photos, which
are valuable documentation and makes our job much easier.
One of our jobs is to review and discuss your reports, determine and vote
on whether there is sufficient evidence to accept as a record.

COMMON EIDER, somateria mollissima, Written documentation and photo
submitted by Jackie Corbin of one female at Snow Bunting Peninsula, Old
Hickory Lake in Davidson County on 11th November 2017, accepted 6 to 0 as a
first State record.
FERRUGINOUS HAWK, buteo regalis, written documentation and photo
submitted by Mark Greene of one immature bird at Jolly Landing in Lake
County on the 25th of January, 2018, accepted 6 to 0
CAVE SWALLOW, petrochelidon fulva, (3 different records)
Written documentation and photo by Jeff Wilson of 2 individuals at the
Mouth of the Wolf River in Shelby County on 30th September, 2006,
(documentation submitted by Mark Greene) accepted 6 to 0 as a first State
record.
Written documentation submitted by Mark Greene of one bird at Booth Point
in Dyer County on the 14th May, 2015 accepted 6 to 0.
Written documentation and photo submitted by Mark Greene of at least one
bird at Great River Road, section between Hwy. 104 and Bradley Road in Dyer
County on the 5th of May, 2017, accepted 6 to 0.
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, miniotitla varia, Written documentation and
photo submitted by Mark Ray of one bird at Seven Islands SBP, Knox County
on 13th December 2017, accepted 6 to 0.
BLACK-CAPPED PETREL, pterodroma hasitata, Written documentation and photo
submitted by Mike Todd of one bird at Pickwick Lake, Bruton Branch in
Hardin County on 13th of September, 2017 following remnants of Hurricane
Irma, accepted 6 to 0 as first State record.
BROWN NODDY, anous stolidus, Written documentation submitted by Mike Todd
and Mark Greene of one immature bird at Pickwick Lake, Bruton Branch in
Hardin County on the 13th of September, 2017 following the remnants of
Hurricane Irma, accepted 5 to 1 as a first State record in the provisional
category.
VIRGINIA’S WARBLER, leiothlypus virginiae, Written documentation and photo
submitted by Bambi Fincher of one bird at the Riverfront Greenbelt in
Kingsport TN, Sullivan County on the 19th of January, 2019 and staying for
more than a week, accepted 6 to 0 as a first State record.
REDDISH EGRET, egretta rufescens, Written documentation submitted by Dick
Preston of one adult at Mud Lake in Lake County on 12th May, 2017, rejected
4 to 2 with some concern about the date and whether there’s sufficient
details to eliminate LBHE (lacking photo).
