We are 1 week from the 5th running of the Reelfoot to Memphis Run
Date: Saturday, August 31, 2019
Time: 7:00 AM
Place: Marathon Gas Station, Tiptonville, TN
Southeast corner of Carl Perkins Pkwy, (Hwy 78) and Lake Dr., (Hwy
21)
Look for the crowd!!!
This is a birders getting together to bird event. There is no cost. We will
bird from 7:00 AM until sundown. You can stay the whole time or leave whenever
you wish. Bring your birding gear, lots to drink and eat, sunscreen, bug spray,
and reliable transportation. We will bird Lake County in the morning. Sometime
around noon we will take Interstate 155 into Missouri until we get to
Interstate 55. We will head south on Interstate 55 until we get to Exit 1 still
in Missouri. We will stop at the Shell Station here. This station has
restrooms, food and drinks. After a short break we will continue south on Hwy
55 through Arkansas to Memphis to Ensley Bottoms. Directions to Ensley Bottoms/
The Pits can be found at tnwatchablewildlife.org. Click on Tennessee Wildlife
Viewing Trail on top left hand side. Then click on the West section of the
state. Site # 9 describes Ensley Bottoms and give directions to the site. I
would recommend printing off this email and the site description and directions
for Ensley Bottoms in case you get separated from the group. If you have any
