I saw a single Red-winged Blackbird near National Guard Armory, Stoney Creek,
near Elizabethton in Carter Co, TN, on March 1. My first of the season. I saw
the bird during a lunch break.
I then got home and had 35 Red-winged Blackbirds in the stand of cattails
near my fish pond at home in Hampton, TN.

Also, at Rasar Farm near Elizabethton in Carter Co., 17 American Wigeons and
five Buffleheads. I ran into Frank Ward, a fellow member of the Lee & Lois
Herndon TOS chapter while at Rasar Farm, who was out birding as well.

Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
