Ensley Bottoms
Shelby Co. TN

A quick afternoon run around the pits revealed an actively hunting,?adult
Peregrine and an immature Red-necked Phalarope. The Red-necked was the 3rd of
the season here along the river, as I found one a few weeks back across the
river at Wapanocca NWR and a week later another in a wet field off of Highway
50 not far from the first and it paraded in front of over 20 birders and was a
life for 15 happy birders.

A few photos were taken before the speedy falcon' again sent every sane
shorebird,?williy-nilly in every direction. Hopefully more migrants will be
using the river this weekend and a few rice fields left uncut?might produce
some more?rails.
