TVA Lake - Robco Lake
Shelby Co. Memphis TN
At TVA Lake I photographed a bill tagged Lesser Scaup among the mixed
species flock of 13 waterfowl species. The birds of the day were found at
Lake, my first of season Purple Martin blown in on the strong winds
buffeting the lake where I found and photographed a Red-necked Grebe. The grebe
is in a heavy wing molt and will probably be around for a few days.
On Saturday, in Tunica Co. MS, there were lots of gulls roosting in the
fields around the landfill. The best bird of the mix, seen in a field just
south of the landfill and again feeding at the dump, was another first year
Also in the area among the Ring-bills and Herrings were a first year
Thayer's and a first year Lesser Black-back Gull.

What is this feathered thing that lifts my heart to the heavens.
