January 4, 2007 Cherokee Dam ( Grainger and Jefferson Counties) Jeanie and I didn't have Rick's luck. We were there from 2:45 until 4:30 and did not see the Western Grebe. We did have a pair of Redheads, 2 Lesser Scaup males, 1 Common Loon, 1 Gadwall, 8 Mallards, 5 American Coot, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, as well as Ring-billed and Bonaparte's Gulls.
