Douglas Reservoir elevation is lower than normal, currently 987 ft., and
steadily declining. The mudflats are expanding and attracting shorebirds in
early migration; we saw 8 common species there yesterday. Great Egrets are
roosting in the treeline at the south end of the embayment, along with
Cormorants and Little Blue Herons. Caspian and Forster's Terns were also
present, with a small flock of Ring-billed Gulls.
