Douglas Lake, Cocke county, 7/18/09, 1-4 PM, by canoe Lake elevation: 991 ft. Not much shorebird real estate available, just a narrow strip of muddy shoreline about 100 yards long long at the Holt Town Rd. inlet, but a few migrants managed to find it. We saw & heard green herons all along the way to & from the coal tipple, along with the ususal wood ducks, great egrets, ospreys, and double-crested cormorants.
