Rankin Bottoms, Cocke county; & Leadvale, Jefferson county; 9/13/2012, 5-8 PM,
by canoe
Douglas Lake elevation: 980.5 ft.

We surveyed from the tipple to east of the Leadvale RR trestle, where mudflats
are expanding, and an EARED GREBE was dabbling along the shore. As the sun set,
shorebird numbers at Rankin increased and we saw a lone WHITE IBIS flying to
roost with the Great Egrets.
