TN-birders,

Sharon Bostick, Frank Bills, Dollyann & I went out to Rankin Bottoms in Cocke
Co. this afternoon to see what has changed since Friday.

There were far fewer overall shorebirds, especially Killdeer. Lots of Lesser
Yellowlegs and Pectoral Sandpiper. Really nice looks at Western Sandpiper.

The star attractions today were:
1 - a superb view of a Peregrine Falcon harassing the birds and flying right
near us for a great look.
2 – 1 Black-bellied Plover seen at distance but Chuck Estes got a much closer
look from a kayak.
3 – 1 Ruddy Turnstone is still around.
4 – Chuck Estes saw a Merlin about 30 minutes before we saw the Peregrine, but
it apparently didn’t stay around.
5 – NO gulls or terns

Great Birding,
Ron Hoff & Dollyann Myers
Clinton, TN
