The number of warbler species was down today from 16 to 10 after a great
day yesterday, and the total species was also down. Two new warblers for
the season there were Nashville and Common Yellowthroat. But the thrushes
put on a great show near bench #20 just before Long Bridge. A group of us
had all the thrushes, except Hermit, in a 10 square foot area of
berry-laden thicket. The Wood Thrush especially showed well. And Frank
Fekel found us another Golden-winged Warbler, this time a handsome male, my
first for the year, in the same general area. Lots of pewees about.
