Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson, Co., TN
2011 Sep. 20
7:15-9:35am
cloudy skies and cool temperatures

I squeezed in a walk to Radnor Lake on Tuesday morning after
determining that the rains had abated for a while. I heard and
saw a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER near Grassy Point just before
the observation deck along the Lake Trail. That area and the
dam area were the best for most migrants today. Eleven species
of warblers were highlighted by 3 BLACKBURNIANs and a WILSON'S.
There were plenty of SWAINSON'S THRUSHes, a couple VEERYs, and
a single GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH. Vireos were represented by
PHILADELPHIA, WHITE-EYED and RED-EYED. A male SUMMER TANAGER
was calling at the dam. I ended the morning with 44 species
and 2 unidentified empids.

Birds of interest include:

Blue winged Teal 4
Chimney Swift 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 1
E. Wood-Pewee 5
