Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN November 2, 2004 7:00-8:30am cloudy, windy, a bit of light rain A morning visit to Radnor Lake on Election Day 2004 was cut short by the approaching rain showers. Nevertheless, I managed to do my usual route from the west parking lot to long bridge along the lake trail. I encountered 2 other local birders and there were plenty of squirrels working hard. As I began my walk I heard a hard thump next to me. Thinking it was a big nut that I had barely missed, I was quite amazed to see a squirrel scamper away. A smattering of ducks continue with 3 species seen this morning. The were dozens of AM. ROBINs, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs and WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS but the only obvious late migrant was a single TENNESSEE WARBLER.
