November 2, 2004
7:00-8:30am
cloudy, windy, a bit of light rain

A morning visit to Radnor Lake on Election Day 2004 was cut short by
the approaching rain showers. Nevertheless, I managed to do my
usual route from the west parking lot to long bridge along the lake
trail. I encountered 2 other local birders and there were plenty
of squirrels working hard. As I began my walk I heard a hard thump
next to me. Thinking it was a big nut that I had barely missed,
I was quite amazed to see a squirrel scamper away.

A smattering of ducks continue with 3 species seen this
morning. The were dozens of AM. ROBINs, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs
and WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS but the only obvious late migrant was
a single TENNESSEE WARBLER.

Birds of interest included:

Gadwall 15
American Wigeon 3
Ruddy Duck 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
American Robin 50+
Tennessee Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 50+
Field Sparrow 1
Swamp Sparrow 1
White-throated Sparrow 40+
