Radnor Lake Davidson County Nashville, TN Saturday April 11, 8:30AM to 10:30AM Frank Fekel has already posted about this to the list, so I will just add up to that posting. I saw the first Ruby Crowned Kinglet of my life, thanks to Frank Fekel for showing it to me. A little while later I saw another one on the lake trail. I also got to see the 4 American coots he mentioned out of the water. They were walking/standing on a piece of log floating on the water by the dam, eating up algae. Other observations included: A solitary wood duck (wonder if its the same one I saw a couple of weeks ago) Yellow rumped warblers Downy woodpeckers (3) Blue Gray Gnatcatchers (3, one very close look) White breasted nuthatch (2) Tree Swallows Barn Swallows Pied billed grebes (2) American Goldfinches (3) In the evening, I went to Smith Springs area on Percy priest lake with my wife, Archana. We observed following: Common loons (2) American coots (6) Bonaparte's Gulls (about a dozen) A pair of Malard ducks Happy birding!
