Radnor Lake
Davidson County
Nashville, TN
Saturday April 11, 8:30AM to 10:30AM

Frank Fekel has already posted about this to the list, so I will just
add up to that posting.

I saw the first Ruby Crowned Kinglet of my life, thanks to Frank Fekel
for showing it to me. A little while later I saw another one on the
lake trail. I also got to see the 4 American coots he mentioned out
of the water. They were walking/standing on a piece of log floating
on the water by the dam, eating up algae. Other observations
included:

A solitary wood duck (wonder if its the same one I saw a couple of weeks ago)
Yellow rumped warblers
Downy woodpeckers (3)
Blue Gray Gnatcatchers (3, one very close look)
White breasted nuthatch (2)
Tree Swallows
Barn Swallows
Pied billed grebes (2)
American Goldfinches (3)

In the evening, I went to Smith Springs area on Percy priest lake with
my wife, Archana. We observed following:

Common loons (2)
American coots (6)
Bonaparte's Gulls (about a dozen)
A pair of Malard ducks

Happy birding!

Vikram
