Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Wednesday, 2010 Oct. 6 7:15-9:15 am I birded Radnor Lake ahead of the NTOS Wednesday walk group, but probably should have stayed with them. All the good birds seemed to be between Otter Creek Road and the dam area. I found very few birds between the dam and Long Bridge. When I back tracked and found the NTOS group at the bridge over the dam, they had gotten to see much more than I had. The group mentioned that some of them had seen a MARSH WREN and so I walked from the dam back toward Otter Creek Road. Judy Luna also went back to look for it and she pointed out the approximate area next to the lake where it had been seen. We searched for a couple minutes but had not luck. Then I heard a loud warbler chip on the opposite side of the path and pished to see if it would respond. Judy called out that a wren had popped up on the lake side at my pishing, and we got several very good looks at the MARSH WREN, our best bird of the day. The warbler turned out to be a HOODED. I also saw my first GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET of the season.
