Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Saturday, 2009 Apr. 11 7:30-9:30am My wife Bonnie and I birded Radnor Lake this morning before going to church to practice music for Easter. It was my second outing this spring, and after yesterday I was hoping for an uptick in interesting birds. Conditions were very cloudy making it hard to see much color on the birds and the weather was a bit chilly with the breeze. Nevertheless it was a nice morning. Best birds were a lone Blue-headed Vireo and a single Orange- crowned Warbler. Other warblers included 2 Louisiana Waterthrushes, 1 Black-throated Green Warbler, 1 N. Parula, and 40+ Yellow-rumped Warblers. Tree and N. Rough-winged Swallows were all over the lake with a few Barns as well. On the lake there were 4 Am. Coots and 2 Pied-billed Grebes plus the usual Wood Ducks. Several flocks of Cedar Waxwings wandered about. Ruby-crowned Kinglets were not as numerous as yesterday but I still found 4. Keep the birds coming!
