Radnor Lake, Davidson Co. 11-25-14 Phillip Casteel and I went to Radnor Lake to check out the ducks that have been reported recently. We found 16 Gadwall, 6 American Wigeon, 2 Black Ducks, 10 Mallards, 6 Buffleheads, 140 Ring-necked Ducks (split between 3 flocks), 5 Lesser Scaup, and 27 Ruddy Ducks. We also had 3 Winter Wrens, one of which sang briefly. However, the most surpising bird was a very late Black-and-White Warbler foraging along Otter Creek road near the intersection with the Lake Trail. Phillip managed to get some photos (attached).
