After taking a week off to visit family in NJ and N. Virginia, I
returned yesterday to Nashville and headed out Monday morning
to Radnor Lake. I was not disappointed. Less than a minute
after arriving at the west parking lot and stepping out of my car,
I heard a CONNECTICUT WARBLER singing on the right side of the
start of the Spillway Trail. A MOURNING WARBLER gave a brief
song near the bench before Cane Bridge as I walked east on the
Lake Trail. As usual, I turned around at Long Bridge. Retracing
my path toward the dam, I heard a CONNECTICUT just east of the
first bench past the deck on the Lake Trail. Not far away at
Grassy Point I heard another CONNECTICUT calling from beyond the
rail fence. I finished my morning walk with 10 warbler species,
but RED-EYED VIREOs were more numerous than any of them. Other
highlights included watching a CEDAR WAXWING eat berries on the
ground, and crows mobbing a RED TAILED HAWK.

Birds of interest included:
Red-eyed Vireos 7

Warblers:
Magnolia 2
Black-throated Green 3
Blackpoll 2 females
Am. Redstart 1 female
Prothonotary 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 2
Kentucky 1
Connecticut 3
Mourning 1
Canada 2
