Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Thurs. 2011 Oct. 6 7:10-9:10am cool and high clouds I birded Radnor Lake from the west parking lot to Long Bridge this Thursday morning. The tide has turned and the balance had been tipped. My most numerous warbler was YELLOW RUMPED. In all I had 9 species of warblers but the best bird of the morning was my first WINTER WREN of the season, which I initially found because of its chip notes. I also saw 2 AMERICAN COOTs on the lake. My total of species for the morning was 39. Birds of note included: Double-crested Cormorant 1 American Coot 2 Killdeer 1 Chimney Swift 45 N. Flicker 4 E. Wood-Pewee 1 Philadelphia Vireo 3 Winter Wren 1 Swainson's Thrush 3 Gray Catbird 1 Cedar Waxwing 9 Warblers: Black-and White 4 Tennessee 6 Nashville 1 Am. Redstart 8 N.
