Dean, Add the following records of Great White Heron: 1). 20 Aug 2004 on the South Holston River and 2). 7 June - mid Jul 2008 on the Watauga River (photo published in "The Birds of NE Tenn, 2nd ed."). This latter bird was even earlier than the current ones near Chattanooga. Clearly something wonky going on with this form. And the first record at S. Holston L. was with Brian Cross, not Rack.
