Birders,
I spent the morning in Cannon County on State Route 96. Between Aurburntown
and Cottage Home, I spotted four farms with a combined 40 or so gourds hanging
and at least 50 Purple Martins flying around or sitting on wires near the
gourds. It was raining and there was no traffic so I could stop and safely
take a look. I also saw thousands of Eastern Meadowlarks from Murfreesboro to
Liberty, TN. Guess they would be expected since the land is almost all
farmland.
