Our feeder here at Beaman Park has seen as many as 12 Purple Finches at a time lately, most of them females. Yesterday Ed Schneider called to say he had three Red-breasted Nuthatches in the pine trees along the drive from the lower parking lot to the upper. After seeing them frequently earlier in the season it appeared they had left, so it's good to know they're still around.
