3-25-20 J. Percy Priest Lake, Davidson Co. TN
Jan Shaw and I checked the lake for swallows that I knew would be in by now,
and anything else that might be arriving or still around.Common loons were
found in the best numbers all year, with most in breeding plumage. One
RED-THROATED LOON dropped in, it still in winter plumage. A large group of
loons (~100) were seen across from Anderson Rd. Rec. Area on the Elm Hill side,
traveling with a group of 25 Amer. White Pelicans.A pair of Osprey were seen,
one carrying nesting material. The few Horned Grebes left were a motley crew
coming into breeding plumage. One Barn Swallow, groups of Purple Martins and N.
Rough-winged Swallows, and several hundred Tree Swallows were working over the
lake.
