How wonderful to see the parents and babies as the birds are returning to the yard after nesting. In the past two weeks we've had several warblers: male Yellow-throated; adult and immature Black and White; adult male Hooded; adult female and first year female Cerulean; immature Northern Parula, and immature Yellow-breasted Chat. One immature Blue-Gray Gnatcathcer has joined them. Cedar Waxwings are coming regularly to eat the wild cherries and we've seen adult male and female Scarlet Tangers and adult male and female Summer Tanagers, along with my favorite bird of the summer - an immature male in that part yellow, part green, and part reddish color. White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireos have been appearing from time to time. We've already had 44 yard birds in July.
