So, yesterday I was working in my shop when a large bird flew past the front windows...then it turned the corner and appeared that it was going to come inside the open door! It was a Pileated Woodpecker. I let out a *gasp* and it turned the corner again and flew to a nearby tree. I'm glad I was standing near the door because it could have been a disasterous situation....I've got thousands of dollars of stained glass inventory hanging everywhere--I could just picture my inventory getting wiped out and the bird getting seriously injured trying to make its way out again. Now, I've had hummingbirds come into the shop and get confused by the windows. I've had great luck so far in that I am able to capture them carefully with my hands and move them outside. I'll be installing a screen door real soon!
