While fishing for suager Saturday afternoon near the fork of the French Broad and Holston Rivers, I observed a bald eagle flying over, with what looked like some molting (juvenile to adult) plumage. The bald eagle was pretty high up, but even higher, almost too high to see, was what looked very much like a broad-winged hawk riding a thermal. I heardno sound though.
