TN birders, Thanks to a call from Rick Houck today, was able to add two new species to the Polk Co list. At the Greasy Creek Bridge at the east end of Parksville Lake on the mudflats were two female Rusty blackbirds. Nearby, on hwy 30 just west of Camp McCrory were 10 wild turkeys, which took care of a nemesis bird I have had for a number of years. Earlier in the day, had stopped by the East Tennessee Nursery to try for a small flock of horned larks that had been seen by Rick about a week earlier, but no sign of them, and bird activity was almost nil there.
