Since I haven't seen anyone reporting Pine Siskins, I'll note that DJ Stanley in Crossville (Cumberland Co.) has seen 4 on April 23, 1 on April 24, and one on April 25; while I saw 1 yesterday (April 25) and 4 today (April 26) in southern Cumberland County. All birds were at feeders. I didn't see any siskins in TN in 2010 or earlier in 2011. Also of note, a Turkey Vulture appears to be nesting in a small (10 x 3 x 3 ft.) cave in the woods 100 yards from my house where they nested 2 years ago, but not last year. (Last year presumably the same birds nested under a sandstone overhang in the woods farther away). P.S. We're at 1800-1900 ft. elevation in Cumberland County so the leaves have quite a ways to go yet (good for seeing migrating warblers in the oak flowers).
